Spotlight: Nadine Thompson
Nadine
Thompson is not only the President and CEO of Warm
Spirit,
she is the visionary and leader of a community of over 8000
women who are empowered entrepreneurs and change agents.
Warm
Spirit is changing the face of
the direct sales and network marketing industry and providing
an opportunity for wealth and financial freedom that has
not always been accessible for women and even less so for
African-American women.
A diverse background in education, publishing, social work
and fostering equality between cultures, makes Ms. Thompson
an unlikely player in the cosmetics industry. Yet, as a
company, Warm Spirit
is a unique contender in the arena, and so is Ms. Thompson.
Her mission in creating and nurturing the brand involves
so much more than the latest SKU…
"Warm Spirit
products help and heal our customers," says Ms. Thompson,
"…and the business opportunities we offer our
consultants help them to help others and themselves."
The company offers women the opportunity to build their
own business with an investment of $99 (only $35 in July
2005), earning income from personal direct sales and from
the sales of consultants they recruit into the company
"New consultants
receive products, literature, a catalog and a personal Web
page, and can organize their Warm Spirit business on the
Internet. They also work with a sponsor to learn how to
conduct gatherings and to sell. One consultant earned $17,000
in a month. We support, mentor and coach our consultants,
because the better they do, the more success they and Warm
Spirit will have."
Born in Trinidad
and raised in Toronto, Canada, Ms. Thompson received her
Masters in Social Work from Smith College and went on to
become Dean of Multicultural Affairs at Phillips Exeter
Academy in New Hampshire, to which she brought her rare
combination of insight, cosmopolitan warmth and her gift
for bringing people together. She was able to meld the prep
school's long tradition of education with a racially diverse
and representative student body and faculty.
As an advocate,
authority and noted speaker in the areas of racial equality,
entrepreneurship and empowerment, Ms. Thompson has lectured
to a variety of audiences. Some of her more noteworthy speaking
engagements include:
The National
Association of Investment Companies, AZ
Dartmouth School of Medicine - Psychiatry Division, MA
The National Organization of Women, NH
Black Enterprise Entrepreneurs Conference, TN
Columbia University - School of Business, NY
Circle of Sisters Expo, NY
Women of Vision Alliance, MA
Nappy Happy Conference, CT
Onyx Woman Conference, PA
Ms. Thompson
has also published essays on diversity and personality and
received the Onyx Woman Economic Empowerment Award for her
commitment to advancing women in the areas of entrepreneurship
and personal financial growth.
In 1999, Ms.
Thompson founded Warm Spirit with her friend and entrepreneur
Daniel Wolf, excited about the possibilities of a business
venture that incorporated her belief in enlightening and
empowering women. Today, in addition to creating and developing
new Warm Spirit products, Ms. Thompson travels to spread
the great opportunity offered by this dynamic and innovative
company.
Warm
Spirit
now has more than 8000 consultants nationwide and in 2003
grossed over $6 million in sales. They are projecting and
well on their way to doing over $12 million in sales in
2004. In creating Warm Spirit, Ms. Thompson has brought
a whole new dimension to the world of network marketing.
Ms. Thompson
is also a wife and mother of two children, Camilla and Isaiah.
She lives in Exeter, NH, at Phillips Exeter Academy with
her husband, Rev. Robert H. Thompson.
